well first of all Heli your story is amazing!! i really like the plot!
second, am i the only one who don't blame the main character?? i think he had the right- since his dad haven't ever told him why they shouldn't talk to humans- to have the curiosity and even have the risk to talk to one of them! i would do the same
third, i really feel sooo sorry for him now that his dad took this decision..=/
fourth, i'm glad his sister found bf, that's great

Dunno if you're the only one... There are still people who haven't told their opinion... But I guess I wouldn't blame him if I was reading this. Now I can't give a fair opinion because I know what's going to happen in the future..

- You haven’t told me everything, I said to Inaila when she was visiting me next time.
- Ehm… What do you mean? she asked like she wouldn’t know what I was talking about.
- You’ve spent a lot of time outside the palace…with Nyshere, I started.
- Oh, you’ve talked with Hathiere then, she answered.
- Yes, and with Ekhinai’ and Thereial, I accented the last word.
Inaila could hide her feelings well if she wanted but I had learnt to read her reactions. I saw Thereial’s name affected her some way.
- C’mon, tell me, I asked politely.
- There isn’t much to tell yet… Inaila said silently.
- I won’t be here listening to you soon, I snapped.
The comment made Inaila’s face sad.
- Hey… It’s the cruel truth, you have to face it. And I would like you to tell all from your point of view, I said calmly.
- So you already know something? Inaila asked.
- Like I said before, I’ve talked with Thereial. And I know what he thinks about but I don’t know what you’re thinking right now, I said.
- It just feels wrong when your life is a total mess right now, Inaila started finally.
- Don’t worry about me. It’s your life and you have to live it.
- But you belong to my life!
- Yeah, I do. But I won’t have a big role in it in the future, I said quietly. – Talk with Thereial and try to figure out if he’s the man you really think he is. Staring and giggling behind his back won’t help much, I rolled my eyes.
- I never said I had done anything like that…! Inaila started to get mad.
- You never said but what else I can expect if you’re hanging out with Nyshere? I asked and grinned. – Talk with him. There isn’t any other way to solve it, I repeated just before dad stepped in my room.
- Can you leave us alone Inaila? dad asked even we both knew it was an order.
- Yes, of course I can, she also answered and left the room quickly.
I knew why dad was here, I had seen it from his face.
The time was coming closer…

- You know why I’m here, he said and sat beside me on my bed.
- When? I asked with one word.
- The day after tomorrow. And I’m afraid I have to public this thing for all elves. I’ve asked some servants to take leaflets to city where I’m asking them to come to the central marketing place. I’ll explain everything there for them, dad explained.
- But why do you have to make this as a public thing? This is enough embarrassing when I have to face you or Inaila or my friends, I complained.
- Because I have to tell them why our land won’t have a prince anymore. And king can’t lie to his folk, you know that well, dad continued explaining.
I sighed. I couldn’t argue with him. We would do exactly he wanted.
- I’ve planned that the day after tomorrow I’ll do that…you know what I mean…in a closed room somewhere in the palace and after that we’ll walk through the city to the boundary. And there I’ll say something also.
- So you’re really going to dishonour me in front of everyone, I sighed deep.
- You must be aware that there can be lots of elves around the boundary. Especially when I have explained everything. They’re so curious that they surely want to see your deportation with their own eyes.
- That was all I even wanted to happen… I muttered.
I had hoped that dad would have deported me silently and told everything after I had left. Now I was the centre of attention all day. Really, really nice.

After dad left I asked a servant to find Inaila. I had to tell her next. Then Inaila could find Hathiere and others. I hoped the time would pass quicker. I was already tired of this waiting. A week ago dad had pulled the truth from my mouth. I had spent that week inside the palace, first in the library, now I was living in my room. I wasn’t allowed to go outside. And I knew there were two muscular men standing on my door ready to stop me if I tried to sneak away. Of course I didn’t even try that. I would be responsible for my acts.

When Inaila at last appeared to my room, I told everything that dad had told me. Inaila was surprised dad was going to do everything so quickly. I was only happy he wouldn’t spend much time for all those arrangements. Inaila had been talking with Thereial when the servant had interrupted them. Thereial had left to find Hathiere and Ekhinai’. Inaila said herself they would start to spend more time together and look if everything went well. I really hoped everything would be fine between them. When Inaila left, all three guys ran into my room. They had also guessed why I wanted to see them. I told the same what I had already told to Inaila. We had a long chat about everything. They promised to come tomorrow again to say goodbye. I had decided I would say a real goodbye only for those who I really cared about. I didn’t want to meet anyone anymore on the deportation day. I would walk over the boundary and that’s all.

I'm glad you liked the music. (: I was listening to Apocalyptica a lot while writing this and I found more and more suitable songs for every part so finally I thought about linking songs to all parts.

Something unexpected I hope and thanks!

Next day passed quickly. Dad gave his information packet in the marketing place at noon. After that all my relatives and friends started to fill up the palace. I wouldn’t have wanted to see any of them but dad forced me to talk with almost all of them. I started to be little uptight the more elves I met. How they were wondering why I had done it and the punishment were a really shocking piece of news. They were also moaning over how I could survive in the forest. Like it would be their worry how I was going to survive after tomorrow. That’s why I wouldn’t have liked to meet any of them. Their apologizing faces, actions, words… Everything was annoying me so much. Finally I had to stop it. I would explode in any minute if I had to hear once more time a sentence: “Oh my little boy, I’m so sorry. But how are you going to survive out all alone?” Aaargh, I would gladly run over the boundary if I had to listen to that kind of talking any longer. Hathiere, Ekhinai’ and Thereial were the last ones that day. I didn’t want to say any goodbyes tomorrow in front of so many eyes. I would see Inaila and dad tomorrow so I could say goodbye to them tomorrow before going to the boundary.

I didn’t sleep much during that night. I stared at my ceiling once again. I was awake when I noticed it started to be a bit lighter. I noticed the difference when I closed my eyes and opened them again. I could see some dark shapes around me. The sun would rise soon.

In the morning I ate my last breakfast normally. Then I waited dad. He had said he would take me somewhere in the palace after breakfast. Then he would take my magic skills away… And after that we three, dad, me and Inaila would walk to the boundary. Then it would be finally over.

Dad interrupted my thoughts by walking in.
- The time is now, he only said.
I stood up and followed dad. Two men walked after me. So dad was still thinking I would try to escape my destiny. Dad led us in the middle of the palace and stopped finally in front of a door. There were a big table and many chairs around it in the room. I recognized this was the room where all important decisions with other kings were made. This room had a particular safety wall around it so others couldn’t know what happened in the room. That’s why dad had chosen this room. Anybody else mustn’t know anything about the things which happened in the room. Dad closed the door and locked it. Those two men left outside the room to make sure nothing would disturb us.
- Please, sit down, dad asked.
I chose the chair which was the nearest from the door. Dad took another chair and pulled it next to mine.
- I need to touch you when I’m doing this, dad explained. – It shouldn’t hurt at all or that’s what everybody has thought.
- You obviously want to know how it exactly feel, I said quietly.
- It would be useful yes, but I won’t force you. You’ve done already so many things you haven’t liked so I don’t want to push you, he answered.
- So, are you ready?
- I can’t become any more ready than I am now, I sighed.
Dad grabbed my face between his hands and closed his eyes. I did the same, I didn’t want to see dad when he was doing this. At first I didn’t feel anything. But then I started to feel how something was moving deep inside me. I heard words dad was whispering but they didn’t mean anything sensible, it was total nonsense what he was talking about. The weird itching feeling spread through all over my body. Then I felt how dad started to suck my magic away with his magic. It started from toes, legs, fingers, hands, arms… In the end my head was burning like a hell. Maybe the most of my magic was there? Dad let my head go suddenly and he was catching his breathe. And how about me? I could feel nothing. Like something would have died inside me. There was an empty place now in me. I couldn’t use magic at all when I tried it. Actually it didn’t feel so special. I guess I would get used to that feeling finally. I also told that to dad after he was capable to listen to me. Of course he was glad that there hadn’t happened anything worse.

Inaila was waiting for us in the hall. She looked at me worried but when she noticed everything was okay with me her face turned sad.
- Do you know what you’re going to do now? she asked quietly.
I shook my head. – No idea. Though I guess I don’t have any other option than try to survive there, I said.
Dad didn’t comment on that at all. We both knew everything could happen after I would cross the boundary line. No other elf had survived outside the land without magic.
Would I be the first one?

This part was very interesting. I already was a bit curious, how the king would take away his magic skills aaand the music fit to the part extremely well! I read the previous parts earlier, but couldn't listen to the music bits then, gotta do it now

15. Faraway

- We should go now, dad said finally.
Inaila hugged me even tighter.
- Don’t worry about me. I’ll survive somehow, I said to both of them.
I forced Inaila’s arms to let me go. Then happened something I didn’t expect. Dad hugged me also. It was surprising because usually he didn’t show his feelings.
- Now, let’s go, he said when he let me go.

When a servant opened the front door I couldn’t believe my eyes. The garden was full of elves. I couldn’t see any free space there except the path in the middle of it. I stared the view amazed. I hadn’t realized this was SO interesting. Obviously dad had pointed out this was a unique situation which hadn’t happened ever before. Dad stepped on the stairs first. Then I left behind him and Inaila was the third. Dad’s advisors walked little after us, they left al little space to us to show we were the king family. When we got to the gate and stepped to the main street of the city there was exactly the same view. The streets were full of elves, we could barely walk through the street even there were some dad’s servants to make sure everything would go safely. The windows of all houses were full of faces whose eyes were locked to me. I didn’t look anything or anyone particularly. I was staring somewhere far away or then I was staring at dad’s back. It was really uncomfortable to walk through the city when everyone was staring exactly me. When we finally walked from the city and the forest spread in front of our eyes, I realized all those elves I had seen were following our parade. Now they all spread next to us so we were walking as one front towards the boundary. Dad stopped a little before the boundary and turned around. Every single elf shut their mouths and they were staring now at my dad. They knew he was going to say something.
- You all know this is going to be a difficult day for me, for Atha’n, for all of us. Atha’n made a mistake and now he has to suffer the consequences, dad started.
I had turned around too and I was observing the huge amount of elves there were standing. I saw Hathiere and Ekhinai’ near us. And next to them were Inaila and Thereial. I couldn’t watch them anymore so I concentrated on dad’s speaking again.
- I didn’t have any other choice than deport him and take his magic skills away, dad ended.
He looked at me askew but I shook my head. I didn’t wan to say anything.
- I Ardeith, the king of this land will deport Atha’n, the prince of this land, he said and improved his voice with magic.
It sounded horrible when dad said it aloud with formal language. After dad’s words I turned around and walked nearer the boundary. I knew exactly where it was but now I could across it. I pushed my arm straight forward. Normally my hand would’ve stopped in the middle of movement but now there was no barrier. I could already hear some silent breaths of surprise. I looked up to the sky, closed my eyes and took a deep breathe. Then I stepped over the boundary.

For a heartbeat I could feel nothing. But then I felt it. The pain and suffering ran over my body. I buried my face to my hands and tried to control this massive agony. I almost lost my balance and somewhere far away from me I could hear someone shouting my name, crying, yelling… Then it was over all of a sudden. I lifted my face up and tried to realize it was over. There was a slight memory of the pain still in my mind. But then I heard it… I don’t know how to describe it. It was like music but I couldn’t say where it came from. The music was built of chords, sad, miserable voices. I couldn’t get it out of my head, it had stuck there to stay. I couldn’t understand how humans could live here and listen to this echoing sound which told only about anguish, loss, doom, death…

Then I realized dad was calling my name over and over again. I turned around to face him and all of them who were staring at me.
- Atha’n? Are you alright? What happened? dad asked worried.
- The pain…is gone, I mumbled and rubbed my temples. – Now it’s echoing in my head, a sound of something. It’s in the background now but I know it’ll become louder and louder all the time… I continued.
Everybody was listening to me. It was completely silent right now.
- Atha’n, are you really okay? dad asked then more worried.
- I’m as okay as I can be in this situation. Don’t worry, I’m not mad or anything if you are scaring that. This world isn’t meant to elves, not even if I can’t use magic. This world is eating me alive.
Elves’ faces started to turn horrified the more I spoke.
- Atha’n, what do you mean? dad asked terrified.
- I’m sorry to that I have to say this…. But you destroyed my life so I guess I have to do the same for you too. You send your own son to die. Can you hear? You killed you son! I yelled in the end.
Dad looked at me shocked expression on his face.
- What do you mean? he was repeating himself.
- I’m dying here. I can feel how Death is calling my name. Now it’s only a whisper but when the time is coming closer, his invitation is getting more and more demanding, I explained.
- But how that is possible… dad wondered.
- At least you all know now the price of talking with human, a straight death.
It was horrible to watch how Inaila was crying and Thereial tried to comfort her. Dad looked mainly surprised and shocked, not sad. I hated him now, I hated him straight from my heart. I wanted he would feel even a tiny bit of what I was feeling right now.
- I’m glad I don’t need to tell mom why I won’t ever come to the Land of Eternity. Why her only son can’t live forever. Because he is going to die. DIE like mortal humans!
That hurt dad, I saw it. But I couldn’t care a shit of him right now. I turned my back to them and looked at somewhere far. I heard how elves were whispering, I could make out Inaila’s crying from all the noise. I didn’t have the foggiest idea what the hell I was going to do now.
