Rest of the days went quickly. I was in the graveyard on days, the evenings I spent in the theatre practices. There were only a few days until the premiere and I still had so many make ups and hairdos I had to learn that my head was about to explode. I don’t know what Ulla had said to my mom but she had been quiet about the fact I was as a makeup artist in the theatre. There were three shows in a week and two shows a day on Saturday and Sunday. The shows would continue still a week after my job in the graveyard if there was enough demand for them. After that I would have two weeks to enjoy the summer before the school would start. What should I do with those two weeks?

I had followed the practices behind the curtains and I couldn’t say anything else than the play was good. It wasn’t too heavy but it was funny and easy to follow. I was sure everybody would like it. Luckily I had agreed the job, they couldn’t have had so believable play without me. Actually I was still embarrassed that it had taken so long before I had agreed to come to work there. Luckily Pete hadn’t started to tease me about it otherwise I would become mad thanks to him, once again. I was pretty surprised how well Pete acted. I hadn’t ever seen him acting before. I noticed the difference between him and the other young actors easily. Their acting was so unreal compared to Pete’s acting.

Mom had booked two tickets for the premiere right away. She was talking that she would promote the show at her work. When I heard that I had to remind her strictly that she shouldn’t mention me at all. Mom looked at me offended and claimed she never revealed any secrets. But I disagreed totally. Once she had told me some secret about her work mate and said it should stay between us. Well, couple days later I heard how mom explain the exact thing to one of her friends. I had noticed mom was a walking information office in the city. She knew almost all the gossips and told them gladly forward. That was the reason why I didn’t want to tell some things to her. I could never know who she would tell them to.

Of course Elina was satisfied with my decision even she couldn’t understand why I wanted to keep a low profile of it. I guess there weren’t many people who even understood it. It was enough for me that I knew what I was doing but it would have been nice if even someone had understood. Vili didn’t say much about it but I saw he didn’t understand for real. How could he? He was a boy… At least Vili hadn’t criticised my decision in loud voice like Elina had done, or Pete. I was annoyed that I hadn’t had enough time to spend with Vili lately. There was always something to do when Vili suggested a meeting. At the moment I had hands full of work with the graveyard and the theatre. On the other hand I had thought I would ask Vili to come our summer cottage with my family. Dad and mom had decided to go there for a while before schools would start. Then I could go there too, I hadn’t had time to visit there either this summer. The only problem was to get permission from the parents. So I should talk with Vili quickly that we would have enough time to convince our parents. The summer cottage wasn’t so big. There were only two bedrooms, kitchen and living room were together. There wasn’t electricity at all, only cold running water came to the cottage. There was also a separated building where were a storehouse and an outdoor toilet. A sauna was near the lake. The problem was mainly where each of us would sleep. Mom and dad would obviously take the other bedroom. Usually I and Timo were sleeping in another one because none of us wanted to sleep on the couch which was in the living room. And I wouldn’t like to put Vili to sleep there either because mom and dad would wake earlier than us so they would wake up Vili. I was protecting my back too so I didn’t want to sleep on the couch. And mom would take care of that I and Vili wouldn’t sleep in the same room. I decided to talk to Vili as soon as possible. Maybe we could figure out some kind of solution. If Vili even wanted to come with us.

The Friday had come soon and the premiere at the same time. I was surely more nervous than other actors. I wasn’t afraid of anything else that an actor wouldn’t be on time on the stage because I did the make up too slowly. Or if I didn’t remember what I was supposed to do to whom at the exact time. I tried to comfort myself that this was only a theatre of aficionados so nobody even required a perfect play. But it didn’t comfort me so much… I wanted to success whatever I did.

I had given a ticket to Vili for the premiere so he could say his opinion about my work. We had agreed to go somewhere after that. I guess we were going to the city. Of course mom was excited about the premiere and she would have been ready to leave when I was leaving myself a couple of hours before the premiere would start.

When I finally was at the theatre I started to do all the make ups and I forgot my excitement for a moment. The familiar routines calmed me. When it was only 15 minutes to the beginning of the play and Ulla came to say the last words for us all I realized that it would start now. Nothing could stop it anymore. The tickets had sold out so the benches would be totally reserved. Nobody looked like nervous at all, everybody was only laughing and the first people were preparing themselves to start the play. My own heart was pumping like a crazy when I went to my place to wait the first ones who would need changes for their appearance. Somehow all the excitement disappeared when the play began and I started to change the make ups and hairdos. Before I even noticed the play was over and I heard how the audience was applauding. I had done it, I had survived. I hadn’t confused any make ups or hairdos and I was proud of that. The actors started to change their own clothes and wash the make ups away. Ulla thanked me personally for my job. I stayed a palaver where we went trough all the good and bad sides of the show.

I thought nobody would need me here anymore. Tomorrow we would have two shows and there would be two hours break between them. I was wearing my jacket in the hall when Pete stuck his head out of a dressing room.
- Hey, aren’t you going yet? We were thinking that we would celebrate the premiere here because it went so well, Pete told.
- Sorry, I can’t stay any longer. I need to go, I said being sorry.
It would have been nice to stay and get to know with the other people better. But I had already promised to Vili.
- Oh well, then…no can do, Pete answered and stared at me for a while before his head disappeared and the door closed behind him.
And what that was supposed to be?

_______

I'm trying to post new parts more often now beucase my listening comprehension are finally over and I have now about three weeks before the final exams start... So I guess I've more time to write and I can think this writing as a studying for my English exam. xD

Naww, thanks girls! ;D You might be right about Pete.... silent
I think I would be able to post more next week... The rest of this week is gonna be a full of parties since I'm going out tonight because we had this thing here called "penkkarit" ... It's like a masquerade. The third grade students wore different clothes and then the second year students carried us to the lorries and then we drove around the town and threw candy to kids.. :DD I was a cute AND fat teddy bear... Typical way to end the high school in Finland and start studying holiday... Well, anyway, then I'm going to a cruise from Sunday to Monday (means a lot of drinking I guess... ) Rolling Eyes

I hope there aren't many mistakes in this part even I tried to check it. I've still sleep debts from my cruise... Two days with only one hour of sleep didn't do very good for me... Laughing And I'm still tired and doing stupid mistakes even I've slept two night normally now... Hopefully this state won't last very long.

Vili was waiting for me outside the building leaning against his bike.
- Sorry that it took so long, they were still asking if I had stayed to celebrate the premiere, I said while unlocking my bike.
- You didn’t stay then?
- No, because I had promised to you first, I said strictly.
I hoped Vili wouldn’t doubt that I wanted to stay at the theatre but I left with Vili because it was my responsibility. We left to walk automatically towards the city keeping the bikes with us.
- I’m sorry that I haven’t had time to talk with you for a while, started the conversation again after a short silent moment.
Hopefully Vili wasn’t angry at me for any reason since he hadn’t said much…
- I’ve had so many things to do, like the summer job and this theatre project, I continued.
- Hey, it’s okay, Vili gave a wry smile to me. – You don’t need to keep company for me all the time.
- Well, no but… I mumbled. – So, how are you nowadays? I asked quickly before we would lose the main subject totally.
- Okay. Tanja, twins’ mother, is still searching for a job. It sounds that she might have some place already. At the same time dad is trying to talk her into staying at home. So it’s a total chaos when two stubborn people won’t give up, Vili sighed.
I understood that Vili had to have hard time going on his home while trying to live in the middle of that. I slapped myself mentally many times because I hadn’t realized to talk with Vili earlier. I was ashamed so much when I had forgotten him and pushed him aside.
- That sounds really disgusting situation, I was feeling sorry for him.
- It really is. When you have to pretend for twins that everything is alright. They have already asked many times why Juha, my dad, is so bad mood, Vili sighed deeper this time.
- So you wouldn’t mind if you could change the scene for a while? I asked.
- No, I really wouldn’t mind. But I can’t run away from them just like that. I can’t go to Helsinki every time, Vili said.
- I might have a solution. Though it still needs some planning, I revealed and started to explain when I saw Vili’s waiting face.
- That would be really attracting offer. And I believe that dad will let me go, Vili assured.
- Yeah, I won’t doubt that…
- But? Vili asked.
- There are only two bedrooms for four people. So the fifth one has to sleep on the couch in the living room. And it’s horrible, believe me. I’m a bit afraid of that I have to sleep there, I grimaced.
- Why Timo can’t sleep there? Vili asked.
- I would guess that mom wouldn’t dare to put us together in the same room…you can guess what there can happen, I rolled my eyes.
- What the… Vili swore. – But that’s total nonsense...! he continued.
- That I was thinking also, but mom hasn’t ever trusted me totally, I sighed.
- How about a tent? It’s still so warm that it’s possible to sleep there, Vili suggested.
- That’s one option. If we can’t sleep in the bedroom, let’s sleep in the tent then, I grinned.
- We can convince your mom, don’t worry, Vili calmed me.
- You can always try that…I muttered.

There wasn’t anything interesting happening at the city so I thought it would be best to go home.
- Mom wants to analyze the whole play for me, I grimaced.
- When are we going to tell her about our superb idea? Vili asked.
- Well, at least not yet. Let’s wait that it’ll become more current. If you give her too much time to think she figures out such reasons that you can’t cross them at all. She could even manage to get your father think that it’s not good if you leave with us or at least that we can’t sleep in the same room, I explained.
- Ok. We have enough time to think about it when you don’t need to work at the graveyard anymore, Vili said.
- Yes, you’re right. At the moment my thoughts are wondering around the theatre…
- But the play was good! Vili grinned. – And the make ups you did made it even more believable.
- Oh God, tease me still a bit more! I complained sarcastic.
Vili laughed already openly after that. I sniffed and ignored his laughing.
- C’mon… It’s nice to tease you, Vili grinned.
- Oh really? Like I hadn’t noticed it, I rolled my eyes.

We arrived at the home street finally. We wished good night and promised to be in touch about the summer cottage things. Some idea how we could get mom convinced would be really nice.

Mom had much to say about the play. She analyzed the whole thing so closely that it was a miracle I was even able to go to sleep in that evening. Next day wasn’t any better. I went to the theatre early enough and managed to make up all the actors like I had to. I don’t know what happened during the play but after that when we all had a common palaver how the play had went, Pete was furious as hell there. The palaver was mostly for the actors but of course Ulla wanted to know the opinions of those who weren’t on the stage. Finally I managed to solve that Pete had almost forgotten his line and the other actor had to save the situation. I wasn’t quite sure how big the mistake had been, I guess it wasn’t a big one because Ulla wasn’t angry at him at all. But Pete wasn’t ever content, not especially when he made even a tiny mistake.

When everybody was spending the little break we had, Pete stayed talking with Ulla. I was sorting my things on the table when Pete marched out and the doors shut angrily after him. He muttered something silently when he walked past me. I went to ask Ulla what was wrong with him.
- I don’t know. He made a little mistake in the previous play but it wasn’t that serious. I would say he has problems with women, Ulla answered.
- Problems with women? I laughed sarcastic. – I won’t believe that. I would say he’s angry because of that little mistake. Pete wants to be so perfect, I rolled my eyes.
- I don’t care why he is angry but somebody should calm him down before the next play. Could you try it? Ulla asked.
- Well, I can always try…But I don’t promise anything, I said doubting.
I could only lose my temper with Pete and that way I could piss him off more. I walked out of the building and I had to search Pete for a while. Finally I followed the muttering I heard round the corner of the building. I found him kicking little stones and swearing alone.
- Alright, so what’s the problem here? I sighed and sat down on a box which contained sand for the icy yard in winter.
Pete gave an angry look to me but he didn’t answer. He only continued walking back and fort while murmuring something.
- It can’t be so terrible to forget one line. Besides it didn’t affect the play in any way. Forget it, life continues! I said after I had watched Pete’s walking.
He snorted but didn’t still answer.
- That kind of “I’m feeling pity for myself” –attitude is childish, I said at last.
Pete stopped like he had crushed into wall.
- Firstly, you don’t know anything about it so there is no need to advice me and secondly, I don’t feel pity for myself, he answered.
- Wow. There is some life in you after all, I was amazed before Pete managed to continue his endless walking.
His eyes turned doubting when he tried to think what the hell I was doing there.
- What are you even doing here? Leave me alone! he shouted finally.
- I’ll do that if you are inside after 15 minutes sitting there calmed and ready that I can do the make up for you, I said calmly.
- Don’t you start interfering in my things! Let me take care of my things myself, Pete shouted angrily.
- Well, then you should know pretty well how I’m feeling! I snapped him back.
- What do you mean? he asked surprised.
- But YOU haven’t done anything else than meddled in my things, I said and crossed my arms to my chest and looked at Pete my eyes glancing him angrily.
- But that is…
- It’s not a different thing! I shouted. – Immediately when I think I have managed to get rid of you, you’ll jump back to my life from somewhere.
- So what?
- SO WHAT?! You turn all things upside down and you make me do things I wouldn’t normally do. Tell me, are you going to be here all the time teasing me?
- Well, I have been thinking leaving away in the autumn. I thought I would go to army, you know I have to do the military service, Pete answered calmly.
- Whaat? YOU are going to army? How you can be there under so strict discipline when others are ordering you what to do next? I was laughing.
This reveal had made my day a lot better.
- You don’t even know all that I can do, Pete understated.
- Obviously not, I said sarcastic.
- Well, well, the young couple is fighting here again, a strange voice said behind me. – Are you two ever doing anything else?
I turned around to see who there was. It was Mirkku, I couldn’t understand how she had appeared there.
- First, we aren’t any couple and second, we weren’t fighting, I answered.
- You we just yelling to each other…? Mirkku asked doubting.
So she had listened to our little conversation long enough.
- I guess I need to go inside already… I mumbled when it looked like that Pete and Mirkku were only glancing each other angrily.
- Why do you have to hurry? Mirkku woke up.
- I need to do all the preparations before the next play, I explained quickly and almost ran away.
It seemed that I had to beware Mirkku in the future. Obviously she couldn’t still admit that Pete wasn’t with her anymore. I was sure she would have said a couple of delicately chosen words to me if we had been together. But now I gave Mirkku a chance to solve things between her and Pete. Maybe Pete wouldn’t be so much with me if he had a true relationship.

I had already made some of the actors ready and Pete had come inside too and had started his own preparations for the play. He came whistling to me for the make up.
- You mood is changing a lot nowadays. If you were a middle-aged woman I would say you have a menopause going on, I said.
Pete burst into laughter. – Maybe it’s my luck that I’m not a middle-aged woman, he laughed.
- What was up with Mirkku? I said and changed the subject.
- She wanted me back, Pete said getting serious.
- Well, did you take her back?
- No!
- Why?
- Why should I?
- Well, why you two even were together?
- It was…well, some kind of fun, Pete muttered.
- And Mirkku only took it too serious, I said.
- How do you know that? Pete asked challenging me.
- Mirkku is a friend of Elina and Elina gave me a strict lecture how I shouldn’t interfere in other’s relationships, I explained.
- I don’t want to take Mirkku back… Besides, you have much softer fingers and gentler touch… Pete whispered silently.
I jumped backwards like I would have got a shock. So, that kind of things was rounding in Pete’s mind…
- You can go, you’re ready now, I said him with icy voice.
Pete stood up and grinned with his eyes glimpsing playfully before he left. This whole situation started to be one huge mess. I didn’t understand anything about this.
It would be great for me too if I could leave this place for a while.

Mweheheh, just wait... Wink

Next week I was mainly at work or at the theatre. Luckily the work in the graveyard ended, I was tired of going there early in the morning. After this I would have theatre plays for a week and then I would have two weeks for relaxing. I tried to figure out how I could tell mom that Vili was coming to our cottage too. Usually I had explained everything via dad. I had convinced him first and dad had taken care of mom so she would agree my idea. This time I thought about straight attack. I would tell everything directly like it was and Timo would agree with me. Even I did a lot of things with Timo at the cottage, he wanted boy company there. Vili had already asked his dad about it and Juha didn’t have anything against that Vili would spend some time at our summer cottage.

I decided to face the truth this weekend and tell mom about our arrangements. She would have a week to get used to the idea before we would go to the summer cottage. I texted about my decision to Vili and advised his dad to be alert. Mom might even attack there and try to get Juha to change his mind with every possible ways. Vili promised to warn him and at the same time he suggested that he would be with me when I would tell it to mom. I forbade him to come here. It was better that mom would be angry only among her family. We were already used to it.

It was quite an interesting battle of words then. I decided to discuss about it little before I left to theatre. Then I had a good excuse to leave my home and leave dad to talk to mom. She was ironing our clothes when I thought it would be the best time for a little conversation. Mom almost burned dad’s second best dress shirt when she heard my idea.
- But where is Vili going to sleep? With Timo in another bedroom, I suppose? mom was wondering out loud. – We can’t put him to the couch either.
- We were thinking about that we would take a tent with us and sleep there. So nobody needed to sleep on the couch, I emphasised the last sentence.
- But you can’t… mom was stuttering.
- We two can easily sleep together in that tent. And it’s for sleeping, I detailed hoping mom imagination wouldn’t start running too widely. – But I need to go now so I won’t be late, I continued quickly.
I left mom to stare behind me her hand on the iron. I knew that mom was a bit conservative and she couldn’t understand that a girl and a boy could sleep in the same room without any problems. Or at least I could.
I texted to Vili that mom had been informed now and he could start thinking what he would take there with him. I didn’t leave any other option to mom than accept the fact she wasn’t going to destroy my plans anymore. If mom couldn’t trust me even so little, it was her problem. It was her sleep which was going to be disturbed, not mine.

When mom had recovered from her first shock, she tried to forbid my idea. First she tried to get dad to her side but even once he had his way. Mom asked even Timo’s opinion but he was only content and excited that Vili would come. Like I had thought mom went to talk with Vili’s dad in the neighbour. And she came from there her cheeks red and later I heard from Vili what had happened. Mom had tried to explain that if we slept together without any supervision, anything could happen. Then Juha dad had laughed and said he trusted his son. Vili wouldn’t flirt around with any girl. After that mom had obviously left back home realizing that nobody took her for real about this thing. I had to hear the whole week that murmuring about how unhealthy it would be to sleep in the tent. I didn’t care about mom’s hints at all, I knew she had already given up. Vili was allowed to come with us and we would sleep in the tent. Mom couldn’t deny that.

The last plays of the theatre were sold out. I guess it was thanks to the review of the local newspapers. At least Pete’s talent of playing was praised. Well, it caused that pee rose to Pete’s head and I was ready to explode with him. I couldn’t understand how he could be so selfish and self-loving person. How almost every girl was drooling behind him? Couldn’t they see what kind of he was for real? Was Pete’s suave behaviour and handsome looking bluffing them? Well, it didn’t belong to me at all, I was just wondering…
